Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in power within the urban setting.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team enter areas they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Fans can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
